Fixing Your Rooftops

There are two types of roof problems, easily identifiable and not so easy to find. The easily identifiable category includes missing or loose shingles, weather or storm-damaged spots, loose shingles, etc… In other words, when you climb on your roof you can spot these problems with your naked eye and fix them yourself or with help of a handyman. 

If you have those problems even if they easily identifiable and easy to fix, it is worth having your entire roof inspected by roof professionals because there is no guarantee that you will not have such problems in the future or you might also have spots that you could have missed.  

The second type of roof leaks is not visible. For example when your ceiling in your room has watermarks or spots. Such issues need to be addressed by roof professionals. It involves having some specialized equipment and having an understanding of how to look for potential problems in your ceiling. 

Once the roof leak problem was identified, you must decide whether you want to address only this small area and get this fixed, or potentially look at replacing the whole roof.  If your roof is old, the meaning was installed 15-18 years ago, you might have additional problems as the average life of an asphalt shingle roof is about 18-20 years.
